It is rightly said that when you strive for a goal wholeheartedly, nature also helps you reach it. Difficulties come in the way but they cannot be greater than the desire to achieve something. This is what stage operator Prabhakar More has to say, who has worked as a casual announcer on radio for many years and who is still recognized by his voice.
Although Prabhakar is retired from the post of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, he is more recognized as a stage director, voiceover artist, former casual announcer, director and actor. This journey of Prabhakar, who has done voiceover in many short films and documentaries, started in 1983. Prabhakar tells that when he was young, seeing his mother listening to the radio, he used to think that he would also go into the world of radio. My voice was already better and when Amitabh Bachchan's voice influenced my mind and listening to him, it further enhanced my style of speaking. When my friends talked about going on the radio, it seemed as if the voice of the heart started coming from outside also. But there was a time when after giving an interview on radio, I was refused to make an announcement but I did not give up. Got entry into the world of radio through Yuvvani and later became a casual announcer.
The journey started again: Prabhakar says that in 2020, I had a brain stroke and my voice got a little spoiled. This time was very difficult for me but I started my journey again. Thanks to continuous practice, I have now started operating again. However, there is still more scope for improvement. To improve the voice and style of speaking, it is very important to pronounce Om, practice breath control, practice Saregama on harmonium. It is important for every announcer to learn singing so that he can know about the ups and downs of the voice and maintain balance in the voice.
